Instructions to make Ndizi ya kisii (banana stew):
- Take your banana, peel, slice,wash and set aside. Also prepare the other ingredients
- On medium heat, heat your skillet /pot. Add oil and heat till hot enough then add the onions and garlic leaves. Fry and cook till tender and translucent
- Add the tomatoes, mix, cover your pot and cook till tender
- Now add your sliced banana. Sprinkle some salt to taste then mix everything up till well incorporated.
- Add water to the banana till its on the same level as the bananas as shown below. Cover and bring to boil. Once the water boils reduce the heat to medium low and let your banana simmer till the water almost dries up but not completely, after around 20-25 minutes. Careful not to burn the banana.
- Once cooked, garnish with parsley or chives. Serve with chicken/beef/mutton stew and a cup of tea. Enjoy π π€€
